The Words of George Will

George Will is one of my favorite columnists. Although I don’t always agree with him, his arguments are well-constructed and laid out. And the man has a way with words that few others have. Combined with a dry wit, his mastery of the language can be devastating (and hilarious) when he targets someone. Hence, his characterization in today’s column of Matt Gaetz, Donald Trump’s nominee to be Attorney General: “an arrested-development adolescent with the swagger of a sequined guitarist in a low-rent casino.”

  1. Am I mistaken in thinking this a blog about Virginia? If I knew it was about anything and everything, I have some opinions about the problem of NATO aligned but not affiliated Moldova and the likely fate of Transnitria, once American support for Ukraine begins to wane.

George Will. King of the word salad with Princeton dressing on top. Here is the only time Will was funny.

When it comes to democrats and facts check out this article on how they end up deceiving themselves. Quite a strange spectacle but it does give perspective on this blog as to why the leftists on here are repeatedly as I observe operating as to a deficit of information. Self inflicted ignorance.

It's good to see that Democrats like Dick Hall-Sizemore learned absolutely nothing from the recent election.

George Will is a fossilized reptile from within the "fops and dandies" cabal of the DC swamp. His 15 minutes of fame expired somewhere around the time I graduated from high school (1977).

He (and his ilk) are the problem.

He (and his ilk) are a big part of the reason Donald Trump won a few weeks ago.

To paraphrase one of America's great philosophers, "George Will can lick my high top Keds, that pencil neck geek".

And Tulsi Gabbard (a US combat veteran) is somehow a tool of Russia since she has no interest in perpetuating the neocon, warmongering approach of the DC members of the military industrial complex.

Wow. Now that the Dems were beaten outside of the margin of fraud (but see certain Senate races, particularly Wisconsin), time to roll out the "respectable" Republicans. Dems hate classism (well, not really, their entire apparat is of credentialed incompetents who desperately cling to their paper elitism, without actually being able to do anything useful) but let's roll out the epitome of Country Club Republican when the majority just won was on the basis of picking up a ton of people who are allowed in the Country Club only in the kitchen or as keepers of the golf course.

Jeff Sessions is a fine and honorable man, whose honor got played on by people with no honor to allow the totally false RUSSIARUSSIARUSSIA investigation. Impeachments. The Matt Gaetz slime, conveniently leaked and used to slime him because he wouldn't play UniParty footsie. The Hunter laptop was and is real, but the FBI/Secret Keepers all lied about it. All of the lawfare against Trump and nobody anywhere said a thing about it…except me on this blog… every lawyer involved should be disbarred, Judges removed, Bar credentialing associations totally rebuilt to get back to "justice." Enforce the law equally, period. No more throw the book at Trump with made up crimes and torts, while forgiving Biden's.

The "people" elected Trump to clean out the stables. Sorry that offends the Classists and sorry to see the Classist part of the Pubbies roll out their usual snobbishness to benefit their "friends" who actually hate them and play them for fools (see Jeff Sessions).

Well, I wish William F. could be here to tell us what he thinks of Gaetz, Gabbard too, because I’m confident it would be similar to Will’s opinion except that I could learn a dozen new 18-letter words that would probably come in handy within the next four years.

I don't like George Will and quit reading him years ago, I find him to be an elitist and condescending. But did read this article, and the following paragraph caught my eye, as it was not all about Gaetz:

Matt Gaetz, an arrested-development adolescent with the swagger of a sequined guitarist in a low-rent casino, will not be confirmed. His grotesqueness, however, makes three other nominees seem what they are not: acceptable. Considering only competence — leaving aside character blemishes — nothing in their resumes qualifies Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard or Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the policy and administrative challenges of running the Defense Department, the intelligence community and the Department of Health and Human Services, respectively.

If you want to make changes, you need to get all of people like Will's recommendations', and go the opposite direction. We all know Will finds Trump unqualified, but Obama likewise was not "seasoned" enough yet to to run for President, and Harris (nor Vance) would never had gotten the VP nod if based strictly on "qualifications". Hegseth and Gabbard are very accomplished individuals, and you cannot claim Kennedy is not competent, Will just doesn't like his stance.

But having said all that, as with many – I don't like Gaetz either (Will used the phrase accelerant on Trump's nomination process, I find Gaetz to be a carpet bomber) and hopes he does not get approved, so that is one matter we agree on.

You get what you vote for. Bring in the Clowns.

  11. If Rachel Levine and Sam Brinton are examples of complete development, I bet Gaetz is glad he stopped where he did.
Biden's appointments were designed to shake up the social landscape and were every bit as controversial to conservatives. The left and the DC swamp didn't comment because they agreed with him.
Trump was elected to shake up the swamp creatures. The first signs are encouraging.
Republicans obstruct his choices at their peril. They may not remember what happened to the Whigs, but we do. A new coalition is forming. This is their last chance to board the train.

Now, the FBI raids Polymarket's CEO. I guess taking bets on the election with odds favoring Trump is some kind of illegal national outrage. The "arrested-development adolescent with the swagger of a sequined guitarist in a low-rent casino" can't get confirmed fast enough.

    Heads need to roll.

Lame duck Biden has decided, after almost 3 years, that the Ukrainians can use US ballistic missiles to attack inside Russia.

Biden's whole defense and national security clown show can't be shown the door fast enough.
