Read your 2020 article and the MD law quickly. The devil is always in the details but this make sense to me. I seem to remember hearing of similar incentive programs for teachers for underperforming schools … no…? What was the HEZ bill number in the HoD?

There are existing incentive programs for medical personnel that are listed in https://vdh.virginia.gov/content/uploads/sites/76/2016/05/Primary-Care-Needs-Assessment-OHE.pdf

After studying a state map, it appears to me that Charlotte County, Lunenburg County, Brunswick County, Campbell County, Martinsville City and Danville City all lie within an area contained by a +/-60 mile radius circle centered near South Boston. In my opinion, this puts that general area of the state on ‘both lists’.

I think perhaps that geographic region as a whole should be high on the list for participation in a Virginia HEZ program. It would most likely require significant levels of interjurisdictional cooperation, though – and what are the chances of that happening?
