Oh, I dunno. Youโve been in the basement since 2016. Is there a sub basement in your Trump Tower?

Just can't leave it alone can you troll?
Being required to defend the indefensible was one of the big reasons my wife and I resigned from the Dem party. It has only gotten worse. How can you ever trust the people who frequently saw demented old Joe up close then swore he was fine? Many of them, including Kamala, continued to lie even after we all saw Joe's dementia live at the debate.

We are all on the ground with no place to hide and the election storm is here.
What are the odds that neither of the parties would present a decent candidate for President even once in the last 3 elections? 4 candidates over 3 elections between them and not one fit for office.
It is too late to head for the basement now, we are not in Kansas any more.
Never thought I'd be nostalgic for Old Whiny "Read my lips" and his sidekick Mr. Potatoe head. Compared to the current crop they're looking like unattainable ideals.

Cool, Australia and Virginia have something in commonโฆ
-
Where in Virginia is the "Keep left unless overtaking" sign? Seems sort of bassackwards for our drive on the right roads.
-
Everywhere! Thatโs the point.
โWelcome to Virginia. Slow traffic keep left, all others find someone and tailgate.โ
-
-
-
Oh, now I get it:)
Just got a new truck with adaptive cruise control. It keeps me 3 lengths back automagically. Ain't technology wunnerful? It's surprising how many people lust after tailgating and will pass me to fill in those car lengths.
-
Credits to WayneS: Virginia debuts new cruise control that maintains position with the car on your right.
My peeve is when approaching my exit in the right lane someone will fly up on the left, squeeze in front of me, and when I look in the rear view mirror, thereโs not a car for a mile behind me.
-
That is such endearing behavior. It is especially prevalent on 4 lane roads where left turns are permitted.
New truck is remarkable, a hybrid powerboost, turbo 6 banger with electric. It gets 50% better gas mileage than the one it replaced and goes pretty good. 430hp and 570ft lbs torque. With that even a big old truck will move. Back in the day we thought 1hp per cu in was pretty hot. This one's 2. Combined with torque at 10 pounds of truck to each ft lb of torque it will step right along.
-
Sounds beastly. I owned one pickup. Ford 150, 390, 4bbl. Other than that, they all been 2-L ish, 4-bangers starting at 60hp and the latest at 165hp. Nearly triple hp. Tell me CAFE Standards didnโt do something. Oh, and theyโve each done it on less and less fuel.
The thing Iโd love to have 10 minutes with is the One-to-One. Some Swedish monster that is 1 hp to 1 kg of street legal car. Yeow.

-
When I am passing at 10 + over the limit and some a-hole comes up behind me and puts his (always male of course) grill in my rear view, I automatically match my speed exactly to the car in the right laneโฆ itโs just instinctive. Extra points when I speed up to just getting past the car on the right then slow down again. As entertaining as anything on the internet.
-
-
-
and if someone pulls up beside me and matches speed with a line behind, I slow way down out of that also – and let them all figure it out also.
-
Yepโฆ do that too. Have had my share of 1 finger salutesโฆ

and earned them.

Y block 292s and 312s rock! I had a '55 convertible with a hot 292. Big valve heads, high ratio rockers, 650cfm 4 barrel and relieved the block so it breathed like a Chevrolet and a hot Wolverine solid lifter cam made it idle with a nice lope and chatter from the lifters. It went pretty good for what it was.

Long ago I had buddies who would come down to Richmond from NOVA to hang out as gophers for Junior Donlavey on the weekends. One evening they went by a state trooper running radar in the median on 95 north of Ashland at about 120 and tooted the horn at him. They got off at the next exit and proceeded to south side via back roads. That was in one of the first 426 hemis Plymouth built and sold to the public to qualify them for NASCAR. Must have been '64 or '65. It was a funny car. No radio, no insulation and rubber floor mats. It may not even have had a heater. Refrigerator white with tacky blue vinyl bench seats and dog dish hubcaps. Very plain Jane except for the hemi, 4 speed and heavy duty suspension.

Undoubtedly!

Every once in a while, youโll see a backup behind a slow moving marked car on 64 on the Peninsula. You work your way up and as you passโฆ โIsle of Wight Policeโ
Geez people! Jurisdiction! Somebody shoot me!

You're right, they were race cars in disguise. NASCAR made them build 500 of them and sell them to homologate them as stock cars. That first year I don't believe they built many more than that. Be fun to know where that car ended up.
We were hanging around with the NASCAR guys back then. but mostly in the late model and modified crowd, a (big) step below Grand Nationals.
One of us had a '56 Ford Victoria 2 door hard top with a 406cu in/405hp, 3 2s that was pretty hot. It later went better with a 750cfm center pivot Holly 4bbl. Progress! Because we were hanging with the round track racers most everything we built had to handle pretty well (well for American iron:). That meant big tires all around and stiff suspensions. Sporty Car 200s were what Firestone was supplying the racers so we used them too. That meant wide wheels and stretched out fender wells in many cases. That Vic was mean looking, sleek with bulging wheel wells, big feet, and between the flat tappets, cam and exhaust it was sonicly impressive too. Buick made some 7" and 7 1/2" station wagon rims. We cut the centers out of them and welded in centers for what we were driving. Another was a '52 Chevy with a 283. It wasn't particularly fast nor did it handle well, but it was fun when it came rumbling through the drive in. Another was a '55 Pontiac 2 door sedan with a 421 and B&M hydro stick trans. It went pretty good. 145mph in that one is the fastest I've ever been in a car.
Long, long ago, sorry to bore you with my hot rod past. I don't think about it often these days. Back then we only dreamed about fuel injection and superchargers and had no clue it would be boosted with an electric motor, tuned and run by computers in a truck with a 10 speed automatic tranny with 3 overdrive gears. My one speed overdrive back then engaged with a wire handle that looked like a hood release. Cosmic.

Awesome! You make a motion like you were throwing money in the basket, then hold up your hands and shrug your shoulders because the light didn't turn green?:)

In case you havenโt heard, major Mpox outbreak occurring with 517 dead out of 17,000 cases. Hmmm, 3%. What was Cov2, 1%?

I've still got a '64 442, but sadly, it hasn't been out of the garage in awhile. It has a '66 400cu in 350hp/400+ft lbs torque motor in a 3,300 lb car for 9.4 lbs/hp. It was quick, but far from the quickest cars around. It pushed hard enough that off the line you could duct tape a $20 to the dash and the passenger couldn't grab it in 1st gear.
-
400 cu.in. 4bbl. Dual exhaust. 442. Broโs first car was a Buick Grand Sport. When he got married, he had the local dealer replace the manual transmission with an automatic because the little lady couldnโt push the clutch peddle. To be honest, I drove it a few times, and if you got stopped at a long light, beads of sweat would break out on the brow.
