    Hah! The VPI+ example is proof positive that education policy is driven by ideology. Facts matter only when they can be cherry picked to advance the narrative.

      You are right, but I honestly wish you were not. These kids need adults to take care of them, not their own dogmatic interests and their dii familiares.

    The next crack at VPI should demand better data. It will be difficult. How do you quantify what a child at the age of 4 or less is really learning in terms of measurable figures?

      The report claimed that they had done it, but did not break down the overall numbers into the slices that VDOE itself uses to assess the quality of schools.

      Thus parents canโ€™t judge for themselves what to do with their own children

        I remember looking at one of your links that showed some sample questions and methods of measurement. I wasn’t convinced. When you are this age level it is so hard to have imperical evidence of what a child is really learning. Factor in the emotional growth at a given age. Kids are all over the place at this time.
