well. is that a “pun”.. what kind of “sound” does a cranky old man make anyhow?

my experience with sound adverse people is that they start out that way and woe to you if you are married to one and dare step on a creaky board or flush the toilet during peaceful sleep time!

We had a real donnybrook a year or so back in the county – over barking dogs and other noise-making critters – including roosters in backyards.

and one thing became apparent right away. people have different noise standards. Yes.. you can MEASURE it in decibels but is it a “spike” or “continuous” or a morning or evening sound or what and if one person hears it and goes ape-crap while his fellow neighbors are fine with it – what do you do?

so now, when there is a noise complaint – it’s not considered credible unless AT LEAST Two neighbors complains – because apparently some neighbors dislike others so much that whatever noise they make is too much!

and the roosters? not allowed. period.

but bird noises? jesus Bacon. When I hear Canadian Geese, or pileated woodpeckers, or wood thrushes ( a beautiful melodic song) even at 5am .. I am grateful to be alive! Grumping is what I do when I turn on Bill O’Reilly and Hannity in the evenings… !

and yes.. when you live in an apartment or a townhouse with a shared wall. .. you do not get to pick your neighbors and vice versa and you do get to share the noisy part of their lives.
    😉

    1. Birds that wake me up at 5 a.m. are darned lucky I don’t own a shotgun!
