Cool. It looks like it came out of a Mad Max movie.

Those ATVs are fun! I rented one in Durango, Colorado and went on this wild adventure with my wife and daughter. The end of the road was a treat. A gorgeous view of the San Juan Mountains. That is not a toy! Some serious torque and speed packed in there. Nothing more fun than hitting a mud bog at full throttle.

SW Va is marketing it’s curvy/rough roads as a tourist attraction these days.
See “Back of the Dragon”!
-
Yes.
FWIW, the Back of the Dragon is curvy, but not particularly rough. It’s fully paved, so it’s more Ducati sport-bike territory that off-road side-by-side. I used to ride sport bikes on that road before they named it. It is wonderful.

ORV is BIG out west. Looks more limited in the east.

Yes. Not as many places to ride/drive off-road out this way.

I immediately thought that WayneS, one of the active BR participants, would appreciate it.
And I do. Thank you.
I don’t have one because I do not own enough property to justify it, but I’ve driven a few and they are a lot of fun. That looks like a Can-Am Maverick, which means it might very well have a 990cc Rotax engine that puts out about 240 HP. It weighs somewhere between 1200-1500 lbs depending upon options chosen. It’s the rough equivalent of an 650 HP F-150 pickup truck, but it can go a lot more places than any truck.
Correction: Upon further investigation, it appears the 4-seater Can-Am Maverick “only” has 200 HP…

“…more places…”. You can get it stuck in places from which it will never get extracted.

That’s what the optional winch is for…

Whatcha gonna hook to?

Well, now, if it’s stuck in open terrain, 6-8 reasonably fit adults can pick it up and move it manually.
Or, if you’re going to be alone in this theoretical treeless area, you carry a +/-5 foot section of fence post strapped to the roll cage and a small sledge hammer in your tool bag. If you’re really into symmetry, you carry two fence posts, one on each side of the roll cage.
-
Oh that. That weighs significantly more than a Can-Am side-by-side. For that, you’ll need one of these:
But if this happens to that, I’m not sure what you do.

Maybe you look for one of these:
