Buckle up, folks. Nick Shirley’s blockbuster report on massive fraud in the daycare and healthcare industries in Minnesota may just be the tip of the Somali iceberg.

Investigations are underway in Washington State where more than 500 licensed daycares are run by Somalis. Many without physical addresses.

Uh-oh.

Oh, and In Maine, which has a sizeable Somali population, the Department of Health and Human Services just yanked $1 million from Gateway Community Services, a Portland-based healthcare provider run by Somalis.

There are allegations of fraud from a former employee who claims Gateway billed for unprovided services and falsified records.

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

The U.S. House Oversight Committee is investigating Gateway, which probably means the Somali organization will get a mighty tongue lashing and no one will go to prison or be deported.

Here in Virginia, State Sen. Glen Sturtevant is seeking information from the public if they know of any similar fraud.
