Democrats get pretty worked up about the perception of wrongdoing, as long as it’s by Republicans.
If only they could muster some outrage for actual wrong doing – like crime.

Title 18, Section 1507 of the U.S. Code, which was enacted in 1950. Under this law, it is illegal to picket or parade in front of a courthouse or a judge’s home “with the intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge.”

Overall, I think Virginia does a good job with elections. I don’t think this “Partisan Takeover of the Electoral Process” as you put it is of much consequence.

I think that the possible replacement of 7 or 8 Registrars out of 130+ is not unreasonable. It has been a while since Republicans have had control of their Electoral Boards, and I am guessing that when they (the former Democrat majorities) appointed or reappointed Registrars, many of them did so with political motives in mind.

I agree, although I would prefer they simply be replaced at reappointment time rather than by attempts at driving them from office with questionable accusations.

The data does have discrepancies, more so than you would naturally find. THEIR data. That is a fact. Until you have examined it and analyzed it, don’t make that assumption. Their data is questionable.

From another perspective, such shenanigans motivated either by suspicion or conspiracy benefit the electoral process in the long run. Increased participation by previously unwoke partisans, even non-partisans, creates a more informed citizenry. The newcomers, like immigrants, will assimilate and strengthen the electoral process. The overarching American value of free and fair elections will dominate.
It looks like the republicans have organized while the democrats have resigned and run away. In a political war, fire has to be met with fire.
Too bad Peter Francisco of Buckingham County is gone. At six feet and eight inches, weighing in at 260 pounds he would have made a great Electoral Board chairman. The Virginia Senate hired him as Sgt. of Arms. The Virginia Hercules could have easily kept the peace or dispatched foes like he did in the Revolution.

The VDOE recently eliminated 18,000 dead folks from the rolls. The Loudoun County GOP adopted a resolution urging VA to secede from ERIC b/c the public has no role in the organization. How to restore Mr. Francisco?

In 2019, the General Assembly tried to make it harder for an Electoral Board to fire a registrar, but Governor Northam vetoed the bill. The House Bill as passed by both house and senate was HB2034ER. Mr. Northam vetoed the bill on March 25, 2019. There were not enough votes in the house to override.
