Finally.
For instance, the former assistant principal at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News — Ebony Parker — has been indicted on eight criminal charges in connection with the shooting of first grade teacher Abigail Zwerner in January 2023.
This stunning act of senseless violence put Newport News in headlines around the world. After all, it isnโt often that a 6-year-old carries a loaded gun to school and attempts to kill his teacher.

Pearl’s letter was prompted in part by the administration’s response to a recent incident in which a truck with digital billboards rolled through the University displaying messages critical of Hardie. One screen said, โRector Robert Hardie wonโt confront antisemitismโ while another said Hardie is โunfit to lead U.Va.โ The administration’s reaction was to criticize the slogans and investigate who was behind the stunt, Pearl said.
