Beardsley Selected to Run UVA. Is a Blue-on-Blue Execution Next?

I figured the University of Virginia’s presidential selection would appoint someone from within the University because who in their right mind would move across the country to Charlottesville knowing the kind of reception he or she would get from Virginia politicians:

Tweet by L. Louise Lucas addressing Scott Beardsley about the separation of powers between government branches.
Tweet from Aaron Rouse discussing the University of Virginia's Board of Visitors and its oversight responsibilities.

The amazing thing is that Beardsley implemented exactly the kind of pro-Diversity, Equity & Inclusion thinking that state senate leaders have championed and want to bring back, as StuStuStudios reminds us:

By mau-mauing UVA’s Board of Visitors and presidential selection committee, Senate leaders won the appointment battle and they don’t even realize it.
