The SBE has updated the AG vote totals twice today, resulting in a Bob McDonnell lead of 345 votes over Creigh Deeds as of 12:42. For those of you scoring at home, that’s a four vote net pick-up for Mr. McDonnell since yesterday afternoon.
Since I noted the large number of write-in votes in this race early this week, the write-in totals have risen from 1500 to 1800. Perhaps “none of the above” should be offered transition office space, too.

My, my…and let us take a closer look at some of the vote and do a little comparative analysis.
In Scott County, of 7905 votes cast (and counted) McD got 5127 (64.86%) to Deeds 2776 (35.12%). In ..oh say Carroll County where 7407 votes were cast, McD got 4398 (59.38%) to Deeds 3004 (40.56%).
But wait! Look at the absentee votes in each. In Scott, McD got 262 (75,3%) to Deeds 86 (24.7%) A total of 348 absentee votes were cast (and counted).
McDonnell ran over 10 percentage points better among absentees than he did in the overall total in Scott!
In Carroll it was more reflective of the spread (and many fewer seemed not to need absentees) . It was 139 (56.7%) to 106 (43.3).
Hold on here a minute…What’s that you say? Scott County is the location of Gate City of recent absentee ballot scandal fame?
Hmmmm…as we say in France “Plus ca change, plus ca mem chose.”
Talk about unsubstantiated allegations.
Perhaps you should’ve looked at Bristol City. Appears that Deeds has 8 percentage points higher in absentee ballots than Election Day votes …
Maybe you just over looked that one … or you’re trying to explain absent ballot patterns by alleging election fraud instead of the MANY other explanations for it.
