On the Road Again…

Governor Glenn Youngkin is flying across the country to yet another political event next week, this time to Oregon in support of gubernatorial candidate Christine Drazan.

But he may be shifting his focus to election races closer to home. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, he has launched a new super PAC, Empowering Virginia Parents, and he’s planning a series of 20 stops in support of Republican candidates in three competitive congressional districts in Virginia.

Between the Empowering Virginia Parents PAC and the existing Spirit of Virginia PAC, Youngkin will funnel $650,000 into digital advertisements and mailings next week.

Hey, I get it. Campaigning across the country is fun. You get to be the center of attention. Crowds applaud you. Out-of-state media treats you better than the hostile media at home. I’d just like to see more of that energy and talent applied to the hard work of implementing conservative policies in a Blue state. Perhaps the Empowering Virginia Parents PAC signals a new focus. I certainly hope so. Virginia conservatives need all the help they can get.
