Virginia Beach is the second hardest-working city in the country (among the 116 largest U.S. cities in the latest WalletHub survey). The ranking was based on the average number of hours worked, labor force participation, commute time, and workers with multiple jobs, among other factors.

Washington, D.C., ranked as the 9th hardest working city, Chesapeake 17th and Norfolk 27th. Anchorage, Alaska, has the hardest-working workforce in the country.
