“Secretary of State Antony Blinken responded Tuesday to criticism by the United Nations’ human rights apparatus of “systemic racism” in the United States by announcing plans to issue a formal, standing invitation to dozens of U.N. rights experts to visit and investigate.”
“It is in this context that the United States intends to issue a formal, standing invitation to all U.N. experts who report and advise on thematic human rights issues.”
“As a first step, Blinken said, the administration has invited two of the experts, the “special rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism” and the “special rapporteur on minority issues,” to pay an official visit.”
Who exactly are these people and what do they do?

Ms. E. Tendayi Achiume (Zambia) was appointed by the Council as the 5th Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance in September 2017. She took up her functions on 1 November 2017. Ms. Achiume is currently a law professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Law, and a research associate of the African Center for Migration and Society (ACMS), at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa.
She is also a core faculty member of the UCLA Law School Promise Institute for Human Rights, the Critical Race Studies Program, and the Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy.
The methods of work of the Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues:
In carrying out his mandate, the Special Rapporteur will:
– receive information from diverse sources including States, expert bodies, United Nations agencies, regional and other inter-governmental organizations, NGOs and other civil society organizations. Based on such information, he will issue communications to States concerning implementation of the Declaration on the Rights of Minorities, where appropriate;
– submit annual reports on the activities undertaken by the mandate to the Human Rights Council and General Assembly, including thematic studies on key minority rights issues;
– undertake, at the invitation of Governments, country visits to further constructive consultation with States on minority rights, observe relevant programmes and policies for minorities, register concerns, and identify areas for cooperation. During these visits, the Special Rapporteur will study and provide recommendations on national legislation, policies, regulatory frameworks and institutions and practices related to minorities, in order to promote the effective implementation of the Declaration on the Rights of Minorities.
Wait for it – reparations
The current officers of the U.N.’s Human Right Council consist of representatives of the Bahamas, Sudan, Somalia, Netherlands and Bulgaria.
Current members of the Council includes a rogues gallery: China, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Eritrea, Libya, Pakistan, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, and Venezuela.
That “initiative” will mark the death knell of the Democratic Party in the fall elections in Virginia and in the 2022 mid-term elections.
